Cambric Corporation

Cambric Corporation, a leading provider of digital engineering services, needed an updated Web site that emphasized its place at the forefront of a high-tech industry. Cambric also wanted to develop a web-based RFQ process so clients could easily get a quotation for data conversion services.

NoWalls began by working with Cambric to define their overall strategy. We also brought in Vanguard Media, our partner in the TrueSynergy Group, who specializes in marketing and branding. Vanguard performed a detailed brand assessment to identify Cambric's unique strengths in the marketplace and the core messages the web site should convey.

Next, we developed the site specifications, part of the standard development process for every NoWalls project. These specs provide a model of the finished site and allow the client to approve each module before any coding is begun. They also guarantee a smoother development phase with less rework and fewer last-minute changes.

NoWalls' graphic department then designed Cambric's site around the core messages identified by Vanguard Media—personalized solutions, highly trained engineers, secure data, and consistent quality. The finished design positions Cambric as an established organization that operates with the highest level of professionalism.

The majority of the development work involved the Online RFQ module, a custom application that lets clients submit a request for quotation through the Cambric web site. The Online RFQ module has real business benefits for Cambric because it:

  • Uses a secure Web connection for data transfer, which is faster and cheaper than overnight mail
  • Gives clients a quicker turnaround time on their quote, so work can begin sooner
  • Lets Cambric offer competitive pricing on work bid through the Online RFQ process

Phase II of the Cambric site will include a password-protected project tracking module so clients can check the real-time status of their projects (current phase, percent complete, outstanding issues, etc.).
